I ordered this gorgeous brooch from Joey and Julia's Hello Pretty shop a little while ago and got it yesterday! I am super excited, they also sent me those very pretty rose earrings which I am wearing as I type. Thank you Lauren, I love! They also have an Etsy shop and a very pretty website which you can both find here.

I can't wait for the right occasion to wear and show off my pretty brooch ♥

There is a new market in town... Cape Town, and it's called the Lock Stock market. That is a super name, guys! The Lock Stock market is at the Palms in Woodstock, every Saturday from 10h00 till 14h00 and there is free parking! ALSO, the market is indoors so it's perfect even when it rains. You can even  test drive the bicycles that are for sale by Camissa and Tern Bicycles. So tomorrow you should really go pop in, I have only heard great things about the market and might also go tomorrow. Otherwise I will be there on the 18th of August with my Maiden Name stall.

So do yourselves a favour and go go go! You can also like them on Facebook and follow on Twitter.

Have a great weekend everyone ♥

I love these guys' gorgeous leather products! I am thinking of getting an iPad, just so that I can get a Savior brand leather iPad case. These are beautifully crafted and they have really nice designs. You can find them on Facebook or shop for their pretties online at HelloPretty

How amazingly beautiful is this soft brief/Tote...

My super mom booked a weekend away for the family this past weekend, to Ceres... and it was divine. It's amazing how much a little break away from everything you know can do for the soul. We stayed in a little house on a farm in the mountains. There was no snow, but it was beautiful! The weekend consisted of sitting by the fireplace, fresh outdoor walks, delicious winter food with great red wine and even better conversation and lots of laughs.

It was amazing and highly recommended

Hi all, and a very happy Monday to ya.

I have some really exciting news... I have been working on a little online shoppy these last few months and today I am letting it out into the big bad world, so Rooted will be giving away some goodies to one lucky winner!

The shop is called Maiden Name and will be stocking all kinds of Something Somethings. There is Something New, which is the main category and will stock self-made products that will be made to order. Then there is Something Old which will stock second hand goods, this will be launched within the next two months and then there is Something Borrowed and also Something You which will only be launched, hopefully in 2013.

Please take your time and scroll through all the Maiden Name products here and then enter the give-away! Also like the Fabebook page here for updates on new products

I will be giving away a 2coathanger in white as well as a ball & chain necklace in white, to one person.

To enter please visit the website here. Then tell me in the comments below which product you like most on the site and also tell me in the comment that you liked the Facebook page... Easy Peasy!

For an extra entry tweet the following... "Great @maiden_name give-away over on the @Rooted_mag blog www.rootedmag.blogspot.com

Good day to all... As everyone might have noticed, elbow patches are super loved this winter so I found this great DIY on the Honestly...WTF blog. It's a heart shaped elbow patch and so easy to do yourself! I am super keen to try it out, as soon as I figure out what 'wool roving' is. My knowledge of anything to do with clothe making is very limited (blush)
For those who know exactly what it is and have a felting needle lying around, here is the link to the site.

Enjoy ♥

Hi all, I hope everyone is surviving the long week!

For today I would like to share a secret... I have a slight wood cutting board addiction and love all the different shapes, colours and grains of wood cutting boards out there at the moment, especially the beautiful, super well crafted Woodnewz boards. They are gorgeous! The boards will be available pretty soon on their online shop, so keep an eye on the Woodnewz website here and you can also visit the I heart market in Durban to find them.

As promised in Monday's post... some 2nd hands finds from Milnerton market. Not everything is form there though, the doggy, side table and toast thingy are from some second hand shops here in Somerset West. I love finding second hand pretties and think it's actually a great way of recycling. I have never in my life bought a new piece of furniture, everything is second hand and I love that each piece has it's own story to tell.

How pretty is the poof and that side table? I love love love!

So here are my finds for this week... ♥

I don't usually do weekend posts, but this past weekend was just so lovely and super productive that I decided to share some pics.

The boyf and I had a Cape Town day again on Saturday and visited Milnerton market (will share my finds later in the week), went to some Woodstock clothing factory shops, had lunch at Sgt. Pepper and on Sunday made a super breakfast which we had outside in the winter sun on our stoepie, took the pups to the beach, I planted a few bulbs, read a lot and just had a perfect weekend all and all with the boyf and the pups.

Good luck with  the five day week everyone, before we know it, it'll be weekend again ♥

I mostly try to blog about local creatives, but I absolutely had to share nomilk today, with everyone. These jewellery pieces are gorgeous and super creative. The are made from polymer clay vitreau and can be found here. If I could have my way, I would have them all!
