My sister invited me to go to a book reading with her two weeks ago. The Book Lounge, 71 Roeland street, is a private little bookshop that gets authors to do book readings on some Thursdays and Fridays. The author on that specific day was Richard Mason, launching and reading from his latest book, History of a Pleasure Seeker. It is such a nice outing on a wintry Thursday night, they have snacks and wine, everyone hangs around and chats until the author and shop owner sit down to have a conversation about the book and the author reads a little piece, just enough to make everyone want to read all the rest of it. You can join the Book Lounge's newsletter on the website to receive info on when the next book reading is. It's really fun*
